Introduction

Settle Bulk Payments with your Bank

To settle Bulk Payments with your bank electronically, you need to assign that bank a Bank Payment File Type. When creating a Bulk Payment, select the Online Payment Type. This will make the Payment Methods with the Online Payment Type available for selection. See Codes Maintenance for more on setting up Payment Methods.

Once the Bulk Payment is processed, download the Payment File and upload it to your bank. This saves you time and reduces the risk of human error.

Unsupported Bank Payment File Types

We have Bank Payment File Types for a wide range of banking institutions and payment types. If none are suitable, there is the option to use a Generic Bank Payment File Type ("Generic Export – JSON Format" and "Generic Export – XML Format"). The process of using these is the same as with other formats. However, as they are in a generic format (XML / JSON), they need a third-party system to transform them into the required format for your bank.

If you are interested in another Bank Payment File Type being supported, contact support.

Alternative Offline Payment

Create a Bulk Payment with the Offline Payment Type to make the Payment Methods with the Offline Payment Type available for selection.

Then process the payments manually with your bank using the Bulk Payments Report, found under Report Manager > AP > Payments.
